Floor Crystal Lights
Floor lights aren’t necessarily set into the floor, or attached to it, as ceiling lights are. The term usually refers to freestanding lamps which you can move to the desired position anywhere in the room. While they aren’t usually your whole light source within a room (because you have ot fumble in the dark to find the switch if you don’t have one right by the door!), they are versatile and practical to keep around, not to mention the fact that floor lights come to suit whatever décor you currently have. You can choose from 5- to 12-arm lights in our range of crystal floor lights.
Tips for floor lights:
The best part about buying new lamps is that you can coordinate them throughout your home or you can choose different lamps to create a different look and feel in every room. The selection of floor lamps, table lamps, chandeliers, antique lamps, Tiffany style lamps is simply amazing. If you take your time to look through all of the available options, you’ll definitely find something that jumps off the computer monitor and grabs you – in a good way!
Don’t feel limited to having the same shape or style for every one of your light fixtures, or even picking them all out at the same time. Your room will be even more striking if it is an individual within the home.
Cleaning and maintenance of your floor crystal light:
Wash trimmings, bowls and covers of sockets in warm water with a detergent. Clean metallic parts with a flannel cloth without using any chemical cleaner, because chemicals can erode their surface finish.
Interesting fact:
Mrs Panton, in her book From Kitchen to Garret (1893), writes: “I must impress upon my readers never to have gas anywhere where they can avoid using it, and to pray heartily for that bright day to dawn when the electric light shall be within the reach of all.” This prayer was answered, but throughout the Victorian period most houses were lit by candles, oil or gas. It was not until the Edwardian era that electricity became generally available and reliable.
