Salice Paolo was born in 1911 and lost his father when he was still young. He grew up in the challenging period of the two World Wars. Thanks to his strong will and flexible nature, he established his first metal fabrication firm, in complete autonomy.

With few means and some valid collaborators, he began creating home furniture, but only after the Second World War did his ideas find new strength and impulse, becoming an important reality in Cantù. His restless hands; his penetrating eyes; his quick mind, that pursues ideas and new shapes. Paolo thinks, he talks, he grumbles … he is like an active volcano, but the eruptions do not destroy, they create! His wealth of ideas, together with his infinite passion, are the melting pot of new starting points for the firm.

Over many years Paolo’s furniture production spread from beds to door hardware, having  enormous success. The company produces products which mirror the ideas of society. In this context, Serie Classica becomes famous, thanks to the innovative young minds of Scuola d'Arte in Cantù. Designers, wood carvers, refined chisellers: their hands mould selected Salice products, maintain the firm’s great reputation. His production is now in the hands of his son Bruno, able to continue his performance in the business and in the object study, concentrating on decoration hardware. From these deep artistic roots the firm SALICE PAOLO was born, together with its philosophy.

The real elegance is in the sense of measure, the widely-appealing styles, and also the bold and daring designs. It is this refined sense of measure that drives all of Salice Paolo’s business choices. This is for all their customers, in order to give them not only a pair of lever handles, but unique objects for their needs.

Salice Paolo knows that in modern times, manufacturing must always consider its impact on the environment.  Their new establishment in Cantù features water- and air purification systems, which conform to contemporary guidelines. They use only minimal-impact chemicals in manufacturing, and have also installed a water-based production system which eliminates the need for solvents. This creates a happy and healthy environment for Salice Paolo’s workers, who can then focus on crafting some of the world’s best door hardware for their customers!
