This item is performed in the Art Deco – Post Modern style (ca. 1920 - 1940).
Even though Art Deco expressions appeared before the 1920īs it was at the 1925 international exhibition in Paris that this movement was officially presented. Inspired by Cubism the intensive use of geometric forms made Art Deco designs be far apart from the Art Nouveau.
The Art Deco period set the standard for the modern concept of Industrial Design which reaches up to our days. This new movement gave new ideas for interior design, leaving behind the reinterpretation of period designs.
Elegant proportions, exquisite detailing and ornament, the use of pure lines combining both concave and convex forms, superior craftsmanship and the use of exotic materials are common characteristics of this magnificent period in the development of art and design.
This product is supplied by Fersa, established in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1941 by Mr. Jules Samuel. Mr. Samuel was born in Belgium in 1901.
