This is a hand blown glass and pewter Belgian temple lantern with a single bulb holder. This lantern has the addition of crystal drops hanging from the rim of the lantern. The originals were used in temples and had a large fat lit candle, the glass lid was to stop the smoke from the candle marking the temple roof. These are now popular way to light halls and landings.
