The photographer says this is the back door to the church at St Edwards in Stow-on-the-Wold in England (and only the international will appreciate the unique quirky Englishness of that name!). They say it looks more like an artist’s rendering than a photograph, and I agree. Some details you wouldn’t dare to even put in a painting, for fear of seeming too clichéd … elements like the fungus growing up the tree trunks, the patterned studs in the door, and the olden-style lantern hanging above the door are almost too good to be true!

Obviously not made for people to open the door from the outside though … where is the door handle! We can help out with that :)

The apparently ‘decidedly low-tech unlock mechanism’, winding the rubber band around the lock handle might be a little hard to duplicate for those of us who enjoy the simpler times of the past … but are pretty cool nonetheless! Although, we agree whole heartedly with the comments of one of the blog’s readers, who says ‘Try and open that door when you’re drunk’!
